Abstract This study examined the mediating effect of negative coping style and the moderating effect of emotional management ability in the relationship between psychology stress response and aggression behavior among students during the epidemic of COVID-19. The Self-reporter Questionnaire,Buss-Warren Aggression Questionnaire,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Emotion management Questionnaire were employed to investigate the mental health of 1955 students during the epidemic of COVID-19. The results showed that (1) psychology stress response had a directly positive effect on aggression behavior; (2)negative coping style partly mediated the relationship between psychology stress response and aggression behavior, and the indirect effect was moderated by emotional management ability.
