Abstract The article firstly reviewed the experimental paradigm of the body ownership illusion, emphasized the overall advantages of the first-person perspective full-body illusion, and introduced the measurement methods, constrain factors, and underlying cognitive neural mechanisms of the full-body illusion from first-person perspective. The article focused on the application of this illusion, pointing out that the full-body illusion induced by the first person perspective can change people's physical cognition, and then affected people's related self-cognition, social cognition and behavioral performance. In the future, researchers may carry out more experiments in terms of expanding the subject groups, deeply exploring cognitive neural mechanisms, broadening the application field of the experimental paradigm and trying more long-term cognitive intervention attempts.?
