Abstract Rock climbing was selected as the official competition item for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020, promoting the provision of psychological control services for national rock climbers. This study fully draws lessons from the experience of the other national teams while preparing for the Olympic Games. Through interviews and questionnaire surveys, this study identified the main factors affecting the psychological state of national rock climbers, including items such as inattention. From these results, the work of psychological regulation and a control program was formulated. Based on the characteristics of competition time during the preparation period, and given the key work concerning psychological regulation of national rock climbers, the psychological regulation scheme of 30 days was selected as an example. These practices show that it is of great value to provide psychological regulation services for national rock climbers.
