The Relationship between Father’s Co-Parenting and Children’s Life Satisfaction: The Chain Mediating Role of Father-Child Attachment and Children’s Self-Esteem |

Abstract To investigate the relationship between father’s co-parenting and children’s life satisfaction and its internal mechanism. A total of 1061 children was investigated by using the Father’s Co-Parenting Scale, Life Satisfaction Questionnaire, Father-Child Attachment Questionnaire and Self-esteem Scale. The results showed that (1) Father’s co-parenting was positively correlated with children’s life satisfaction; (2) Parent-child attachment and children’s self-esteem not only played a part of mediating role but also played a chain mediating role in the relationship between father’s co-parenting and children’s life satisfaction. These findings provided a effect mechanism affecting children’s life satisfaction, which provided new ideas for improving children’s life satisfaction from the perspective of family and children themselves.
