Abstract The present study used the bibliometrics to review the research progress and hotspots of hyperscanning researches in recent years in combination with macro and micro perspectives, and prospect for future development trends. The results found that the number of literatures published in hyperscanning was increasing exponentially. The autism spectrum disorder group, which is typically characterized by social communication disorders, has become one of the key research objects to reveal the social brain. The practical applications of hyperscanning mainly include teacher-student communication in the teaching process, psychological consultation and clinical psychotherapy, and multi-brain interaction in group creative activities. Finally, the present study outlined future developmenttrends of hyperscanning.
