Abstract Despite the COVID-19 pandemic has approached its end, the negative impact of pandemic-related experiences on the long-term psychological development of adolescents does not wane. The meta-analysis results showed that the detection rate of problematic Internet-related behaviors (Internet addiction, smartphone addiction) among Chinese adolescents during the pandemic period was 30.90% (95%CI [24.40%, 37.40%]). In the post-pandemic era, the risks of problematic Internet-related behaviors that Chinese adolescents are faced with should not be neglected. The ecological systems theory can be used as a reference to deal with the risks of problematic Internet-related behaviors from the individual, microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem and chronosystem levels, which can provide some inspiration and reference for relevant scientific researchers, policymakers, and practitioners.
